The Course
To date, the course is the same as year. The Half Marathon begins in Anderson Park in Vernonia, and proceeds directly to the Vernonia-Banks State Trail. The course runs along the Vernonia Banks State Trail, (paved and gravel trails through scenic woods on an abandoned railroad bed). The course is generally flat, with some rolling hills. The trail crosses several roads, but is otherwise closed to traffic. Aid stations and traffic control will be provided. Participants will put a change of clothes in bags that will be available at the finish area. Participants will be bussed from the finish back to Vernonia for the awards ceremony. Course maps will be provided.

Awards
The award ceremony will be held at noon. Plaques go to the top three overall male and female winners, and to the top three overall male and female masters winners. In addition, ribbons will go to the top five finishers in each five year age group. There is no separate walk category, so those walking will be competing with runners. Food, beverages, and a raffle will be provided after the race.

Directions:
Take Highway 26 west to the Highway 47 exit (just past Manning). Go north until you reach Vernonia. Turn right, then turn right onto Jefferson. Only official race vehicles will be allowed in Anderson Park. Participants and volunteers should park on city streets and at Vernonia High School. Participants will be bussed from the finish line back to Anderson Park for the awards ceremony. Carpooling is encouraged!
